Product description

The 7561 screw is a self-tapping bi-metal screw with a hexagonal head, designed for fixing trapezoidal sheet metal to a timber substructure. It is therefore the right choice when the supporting structure is made of timber and a hexagonal head is preferred. The recommended embedment depth of at least 30 mm ensures a secure hold in the timber.

Hex Bimetal Self-Tapping Screw A2
SW 8
reduced drill point No. 1
Sealing washer A2
for fixing profiled sheet metal to timber substructures
Recommended embedment depth ≥ 30 mm

Typical applications

The 7561 screw is used wherever profiled sheets need to be fixed to a timber structure. Typical applications include:

  • Fixing trapezoidal sheets to timber substructures
  • Roofs and walls with timber frameworks
  • Use on walls and roofs
  • Outdoor applications and indoor areas with high humidity

The screw is designed as a self-tapping A2 bi-metal screw with a hexagonal head (SW 8) and a reduced drill point, fitted with an A2 sealing washer. It is available in a length of 35 mm with washers in sizes 14, 16, 19 and 22 mm; the recommended embedment depth in timber is at least 30 mm. For roof applications, it is approved for use with or without a cap.

When should you choose this screw?

The 7561 screw is the right choice when trapezoidal sheet metal is being fixed to a timber substructure and a hexagonal head is required. If you prefer the UFO design with a flat underside for timber, the 7160 screw is the equivalent. If the supporting structure is made of steel, the 7510 screw or the UFO screws 7110 to 7130 are recommended, depending on the thickness of the beam. You can find an overview of all screws in the ‘Screws’ category.

Matching products

The 7561 screw is used in conjunction with profiled sheets. Suitable for this:

  • Trapezoidal sheets for roofs and walls: Trapezoidal sheet range.
  • Cap screws for roof applications where the screw is positioned in the high rib.
  • Screw 7160 as the UFO variant for timber: Screw 7160.

You can find an overview of all accessories in our accessories section.

Frequently asked questions

How does the 7561 screw differ from the 7160?

Both are bi-metal screws for trapezoidal sheet metal on timber. The 7561 has a hexagonal head and more washer variants, whilst the 7160 screw has a flat ‘UFO’ head underside. The choice depends on the head shape and the required washer.

How deep must the screw be driven into the timber?

The recommended embedment depth is at least 30 mm. This ensures that the sheet metal is securely held in place on the timber structure.

What lengths are the screws available in?

Screw 7561 is available in a length of 35 mm with washers in 14, 16, 19 or 22 mm. The appropriate choice depends on the sheet metal profile and the timber structure. We’d be happy to advise you on this.

Do I need a cap on the roof?

On the roof, the screw is approved for use both with and without a cap. A cap is used when the screw is positioned in the high rib to improve the bearing surface. We’d be happy to advise you on the appropriate design.
