Product description

The 7550 screw is a short fixing screw for edge profiles. It securely fastens finishing and edge sheets – such as eaves, ridge or corner profiles – to the substrate and is also suitable for joining overlapping sheets. As a hexagonal bi-metal screw with a full thread, it ensures a secure fit in thin materials.

Typical applications

The 7550 screw is used wherever flanged profiles and thin sheets need to be fastened. Typical applications include:

  • Fastening of edge profiles such as eaves, ridge, corner and valance sheets
  • Joining overlapping sheets on thin material
  • Use on walls and roofs
  • Outdoor applications and indoor areas with high humidity

The screw is designed as a self-tapping bi-metal A2 screw with a hexagonal head (SW 8) and full thread, featuring a reduced drill point and an A2 sealing washer. It is available in lengths of 20, 22 and 25 mm and is designed for material thicknesses of 1 to 2.5 mm. For roof applications, it is approved with and without a cap.

When should you choose this screw?

The 7550 screw is the right choice when fixing edge profiles to a structure. When fixing trapezoidal sheets to the substructure, the 7110, 7510 or, for timber, the 7160 screw. For sandwich panels, long panel screws such as the 7565 are suitable. You can find an overview of all screws in the ‘Screws’ category.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 7550 screw used for?

It is the short fixing screw for edge profiles such as eaves, ridge, corner and valance sheets, and is also suitable for joining overlapping sheets. Thanks to its short length, it sits flush in thin material.

How does the 7550 screw differ from trapezoidal sheet metal screws?

The 7550 is specifically designed for profiled sheets and thin sheets and is kept short. The 7110 to 7530 screws, on the other hand, are used to fix trapezoidal sheets to the substructure. The choice depends on the component to be fixed.

In what lengths is the screw available?

The 7550 screw is available in lengths of 20, 22 and 25 mm with a sealing washer. The correct choice depends on the profile and the substrate. We’d be happy to advise you on this.

Do I need a dome head on the roof?

On roofs, the screw is approved for use both with and without a cap. A cap is used when the screw is positioned in the high rib to improve the bearing surface. We’d be happy to advise you on the appropriate design.
